Anne Lever has studied under Robin Child at the Lydgate Art Research Centre. Her work has been influenced by the study of many of the great 20th century masters from Cézanne onwards. She draws inspiration from landscape, particularly the Sussex Downs where she was born and brought up, Scotland where she walks and paints and the Cheshire/Derbyshire border where she lives. She has travelled widely and has been much inspired by her time in India and more recently Africa.
Her work is represented in many private collections. She had her first solo exhibition in Sussex in 1986 and then continued to exhibit in the North of England when she moved to Cheshire. She trained and practised as a Solicitor and also as a Counsellor. She feels her work reflects this background as there is a tension in her paintings between the desire for order and the expression of her feelings about the subject matter. |
