'Tim Time'

'Bermuda Blues 2'

Biddy Elkins has studied with several professional painters, either individually or on courses, while living in Cyprus, Bermuda and now England. The stimulation of Robin Child’s tuition over the years, has expanded her horizons and enabled her to respond both intellectually and emotionally to subjects of inspiration in her own way.

She has exhibited in various open exhibitions and group shows in the UK and overseas, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions in London. Her work is in private and corporate collections in Europe, the United States, Canada, and Australia. In July 2005 she graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Painting and Drawing from the West Dean College (validated by Sussex University) and subsequently studied at The Prince’s Drawing School in London. She is currently a volunteer Tour Guide at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester, which recently won the Gulbenkian Prize for the best new Museum or Gallery to be opened in Britain in 2006. Her current work is exploring aerial images flying over the Australian desert; the sea and coastline across Europe and an incredible visit to Machu Picchu in Peru.

This body of work is primarily concerned with colour and light, based upon memories and experiences of journeys undertaken, plus a voyage of the mind.
