P.L.Wright lives in Wiltshire in a small rural hamlet near Bath. She studied photography at the London School of Printing and Graphic Arts 1962-64. Afterwards she worked in London and Capetown as a photographic printer. On returning to England in 1967 she specialised in portrait photography. While living in Yorkshire with her family she attended the Harrogate College of Art studying life drawing and painting. Her tutors were Brian Pedley and Douglas Wales. In 1996 she returned to the south of England and became a student of Robin Child.

Recent exhibitions include The Wykeham Gallery, Stockbridge; The Mill Gallery, Lechlade; The R.W.A. 2004 Gilders Workshop, Artistic Excellence Award; The A.F.A.S. The Mall Galleries, London 2005, The Thales Prize and Rosvikgallery, Marlborough.

Colour, mark making and the geometry of the rectangle are central to her painting. She mostly abstracts from the figure and is very interested in body language. Oil painting is her passion.
