Vee Wallace - Painting for Vee is an ongoing journey of exploration and discovery. This journey began with a three-year course at The Open College of the Arts under the tutelage of Rose Rands in Cambridge. It has continued with huge benefit, at the Lydgate Art Research Centre, painting under Robin Child. The journey has taught her to see the world in terms of colour and shape rather than objects.

Her preferred subject is landscape; scenes that have been imprinted on the mind’s eye, often secured by a series of quick sketches to be used later. These sketches are only a starting point and the finished work usually bears little resemblance to them. She finds when painting that the more detail you remove from the image the more strength and life the work has; a realistic subject simplified to the virtually abstract. She seeks to convey the essence of the subject matter in a way that invites exploration rather than delivering the message whole.

She exhibits in a number of galleries in East Anglia where she lives, and her work has found its way into private collections as far flung as the USA and New Zealand.
